I went to Tokyo this summer and was amazed, inspired and frankly intimidated by how well Japanese women care for their skin. So naturally I was interested in their practices and products. Here’s what I brought home with me:
Damdam Citrus Glow Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Serum
I picked up this serum at the popular organic skincare emporium Cosme Kitchen. It’s cooling and hydrating on my summer worn skin. Plus, I'm a sucker for anything in a dropper format.
F Organics UV Protect Base SPF 33 / PA +++
I don’t wear much makeup, but I do wear sunscreen everyday. This base is SPF 33 and has a slight color. It does feel slightly tacky on my skin but I’m willing to give it a go.
Naturaglace Make-up Cream Color Plus SPF 44 / PA +++
This is another sunscreen base with even higher SPF. What makes it different though is it’s a mint green shade to counteract redness or small blood vessels. My skin has strong red undertones (lucky me) so I’m especially excited to try this one.
Mitea Organic Loony Tunes
This is for my girls! They desperately want to wear lipstick, though they are only 4 and 6 years old. The minimalist packaging and long slim tube gives this innocent lip tint a grownup feel. It’s the anti-Lipsmacker.
UV Protection Sleeves
Ok, let’s see if I actually use these super long gloves. I can tell you they are all the rage in Tokyo but not so much on the streets of Paris. Still, with my fair skin and family history of skin cancer, it’s not wearing gloves in the sun is not a bad habit to get into. As my dad said, you can always tell a woman’s age by her hands.
